    The Nipple, June 10, 2018

Since the skiing was so good the day before, I returned to The Nipple the next day. Once again, I got got to make turns with a friend that I hadn't seen in a while.

Since The Nipple has so many different exposures and patches to choose from, we skied a couple of different lines than I did the day before.

Penny and Makisha following Richard on the "Boreal" patch above Lower Blue Lake.

    Roundtop/Sisters, June 16, 2018, One

On this day I joined Skier666 and Austin for an adventure that included skiing on various areas on Roundtop and Sisters. We started from near Woods Lake and headed up past Winnemucca Lake.

I'll post a few highlights here while we wait for a full-fledged Skier666 TR and video with a cool soundtrack.

Austin and Skier666 would head up Moon Crescent Chute...

I think that we must have skied every good line you can see looking from left to right. Definitely a very full, fun-filled day!

    Folger Peak, June 27, 2018

While skiing up at Dorothy Lake near Ebbetts Pass two days earlier we had a good view of the Folger Peak area. We noticed that the bowl below the looker's left ridge was still holding enough snow for a nice long run. I headed up with Makisha and Penny.

    Penny loves the snow.

After two runs from just below the top of the ridge we headed down following a stream that led to a skiable patch of snow below a little waterfall that brought us down to a quick five-minute walk back to the car.

It was nice to cool off and take a relatively long run for the end of June

Nice to see continuing turns into July. 177 months, wow!
I'm looking for some patch skiing this weekend. Where would you recommend for some fairly quick access? Patch? Dunderberg?
    Thanks.

Not only was it cooler up around 11,000 feet, it started raining right after we finished skiing.

    Forestdale Divide, July 17, 2018

Makisha and Penny joined me on a recon mission to a classic old favorite area, Forestdale Divide. Previous reports of the road being closed seemed to be in error as there were no closed signs. In fact, the road from Hwy. 88 down to the bridge over Forestdale Creek was the best I had ever seen it. It felt like it was freshly graded. However, the road after the bridge was close to the worst I had ever seen it and it looked nearly unpassable just before the "Right Patch." We headed back down to the "Center Patch" which had more snow and looked a lot safer.

After two more runs we headed out for more snow recon as well as ways to keep cool.

After cooling off in Forestdale Creek we headed down and all the way around past Blue Lakes to Lost Lakes.

We continued on until we were on the other side of Forestdale Divide. We hiked over to the Luniz Patch.

In order to be able to say "I got five on it," I took five runs on the Luniz Patch.

Mission accomplished. We found snow and water at elevation to escape the July heat.
