This past weekend, the sky lit up as a storm passed through over Palouse Falls. Simply beautiful!

This was a common morning theme at the desk in Ft St James (Stuart Lk) in winter. The sunsets weren’t half bad either.

An old friend put this on insta yesterday. Just south of here and north of Iowa City. 80 mph winds. Cold front moved through blowing 10 year event pwats out of here (2.5 inches). Storm dumped rain at a 6 inch an hour rate but thankfully moved through progressively instead of stalling out. Glossary - NOAA's National Weather Service. Precipitable Water - measure of the depth of liquid water at the surface that would result after precipitating all of the water vapor in a vertical column over a given location, usually extending from the surface to 300 mb.

Well, there was some thunder involved.
I actually was trying to take a picture of the clouds. We had been having some really weird and bad storms that summer, and it looked like another one was on it's way.
This storm happened the week before:
It left a strip of hail across the fields.
The video was taken by our old neighbor. You an see my white truck in the driveway in the background.

That is some trippy shit. Have to read up on that phenomena.
And, while images below are not my images, still digging them.
Experienced a smallish sandstorm and it was...interesting. Luckily never have had to experience a big one...
And mammatus clouds. Seen twice live and the name makes me giggle...
The floggings will continue until morale improves.

In related kinda cool weather stuff, the ice boom keeping floes regulated out of Lake Erie into Niagara is something I never knew existed till today, and they’re taking it out early this year.
