    Alpine used to have groomers called Red, Blue, Yellow, and Red-Blue. They all have new names now although I have no idea which is which--then or now.

    Pretty sure Squaw is the only area with a Schimmelpfennig Bowl. (Named by long time patroller Wes Schimmelpfennig who put a homemade sign at the top year after year until they finally made it official. He didn't even have to die. He retired a few years ago as director of NSP at Squaw, in his 80's.)

    I misspoke--there still is a Yellow Trail, off Yellow Chair no less. There's also a High Yellow which is a hike to off piste slope, fairly steep, that doesn't connect directly to Yellow Trail.
