There's been some rumblings about a Pierre's Hole Fishing Rendezvous this summer. Mags are talking about getting up on the Teton R. and in and around the Bitch crick zone.
I missed the Green river lakes lodge date again, only days left are in October. Beautiful fall days up there.

Had intentions of a spring trip to the SF but no dice. SF or Pierre's...interested.
Hauling the family and the power drifter to Jackson Lake for the last week of August if anyone is interested in chaos.

Oh Hells yes to both of you.
Pierre's is the original fur trappers name for the Teton valley. Major rendezvous there then a pitched battle with some hostile Injuns. They say 400 tents/tipis went from south of Driggs to Tetonia. Partying off the hook back then.
For a not so fishing guy like me, this tri-state area is so unbelievable to get on/near water. I look forward to a sooner than later connect Fuge. Snugs to Oreo and love to Marley.

I missed that too. meant to try and grab it one weekend. I need to remember to call the forest service next year and figure out exactly when they open it up to bookings, maybe see if any government employees take bribes.
since I'm basically never going to get that place reserved for myself, I kinda wish they would raise the nightly rate to help fund forest operations. that lodge is a steal for $100/night sleeping as many as it does, and they could get more for it. absolutely unreal setting, feisty brown trout on the green, easy floating, tasty lakers in the lakes, small stream gems nearby. Would be heaven at the beginning of July.
kokanee spawn up there in september. cool to see. not sure about october but I bet it's pretty with all those aspen trees.
the place bar in cora is classic sublette county

We had a few wild nights in that place back in the day. Going to college in Laramie and driving to my college girlfriends house in Wilson, we would sometimes get sidetracked into a night of sin in Cora. In the 80's that place was rocking!
Looking forward to fishing with you fools. I am betting the upper Green is going to fish long and well this year! I am always down for a Teton R float or 6. Looking forward to checking out that new Lake ride Schwerty.Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I break your concentration?

Keep in mind that the Teton tends to slide into the doldrums from late summer to mid Sept., even in a good water year. If you want good summer fishing with reliable hatches, July is the best, especially for the Basin sections of the river. Even the canyon gets slow in August. The fish have seen so damn many big foam dries by August that it gets real hard to entice them into inspecting a hopper pattern. Some days, flying ants will fire things up.
Bitch Creek stays cool and fishy all summer but once you get away from the handful of well trafficked access points, it's no idyllic day of wade fishing. The majority of the 20 miles between the headwaters and the mouth is guarded by very steep canyon walls that have no trails. The few parts that aren't a chore to access will get a beat down as soon as the water drops to fishable levels. There is some awesome dry fly fishing to be had in the remote sections but you will really earn those fish on the climb in and out.Last edited by neckdeep; 04-30-2019 at 01:32 PM.

Holy Shize! neckdeep is waaaaay ahead of me on that spot, Dang.
I just like getting out, and always into an adventure. Whatever happens, we can have fun, maybe more bartime than watertime?
You locs seem well set up to slay 'em no matter what.
The Place - Need a new t-shirt from there after leaving a msg. for Bunny.
FKNA - the green river lake lodge. I stayed there for a coupla nights back in my twenties. Buddies wife was a FS employee. Stunning place, and yeah a fuckton of Aspens right there. Thought I was in time to get us a weekend but hell no.

A few summers ago a buddy and I hiked in on the opener. We were surprised at the number of rigs there at daybreak, when we got down to the river we found Fish and Game doing surveys, and they made some poor interns hike car batteries down to run their live wells. We got a good chuckle.
