Still had the milk delivery door for actual deliveries when I was a kid. Eggs too. I used to climb through it all the time..... don't ever remember the house door being locked back then.

Yesterday I couldn't open the deadbolt WITH a key. Finally had to beat on the lever with a hammer, file the strike plate. I never use button locks on exterior doors. Too easy to break in, too easy to lock yourself out. My wife likes the button lock on our bedroom door though, so she can lock me out when she's mad at me.

We don't lock our doors unless we're out of town, except for the garage doors. Nothing worth stealing in the house--just computers, stereo, TV's, checks, guitars, amps, just crap like that. But my skis are in the garage.

Well played. But WTF? I’ve never heard anybody do that. “I’m from Rhode Island so I know all about nuclear physics.”

Did the folks from WA know about geoducks or what?

I think he is implying that he also reversed the lock on the interior door so he truly locks the garage to secure what is valuable

I really can't believe that. I also want to know how the guy in the other thread got his new bike stolen from his garage.

In related news, my neighbor called me the other day. He had nagging thought that he forgot to close his garage door before he went out of town and wanted me to confirm that he didn't have a senior moment.

But worth it when it turns out to be true that your front door is wide open...

Peppa Pig. British animated kids show.

My youngest watches it constantly - he asked me yesterday if I would replace batteries in the "torch".

We went to the zoo recently and I caught myself saying zebra like "zeh-bruh" instead of "zee-bruh".

Might becoming annoying someday. But I hope not. Better than Paw Patrol.

I saw some peppa pig. Enjoyed it fine. My favorite was always Oswald (voiced by Fred Savage).... just the most mellow friendly positive show:

I just hung a new door with a nice touch pad lock. No more keys needed.

Did it. Went to work. Got home and the garage door had been open all day. Lot's tools, bikes, fly gear, skis all just sitting there in plain sight. Nothing was missing, thankfully. I was not amused with myself.
