IT has abused gotcha phishing emails as “training” so much that now I just send anything that looks remotely like it could be for them to deal with and subsequently am ignoring a bunch of stuff the head office probably wants me to do because “it looks suspicious”.

That's a good idea, those meeting invites are always sketchy looking.

Well, when you send out official looking email with links to surveys from official looking email addresses that are actually revert you to remedial training because you can’t tell a phishing email from a non phishing email the end result is that people, get this, stop trusting anything that looks official and isn’t coming from a small subset of email lists.
I guess that’s probably more productive than dealing with the phishing attack.
I’m sending stuff that probably is legit to them, but I don’t have time or interest in spending half an hour doing remedial training.

Hah.
Really?
IT is pretty damned thankless… nobody is excited when things work, but damn do people get surly if something inconveniences them a little bit. “You had to change your password or you lost a desktop shortcut? Oh my, that must have been horrible for you…”
Not defending bad IT departments, of which there are plenty, but good IT is a treasure.focus.

Yeah, I don’t have any issue with IT until they get surly about me requesting they fix something on a machine that they have essentially locked me out of.
Maybe 15 years ago my work computer and all associated issues with it became “it’s not my job, please fix” for me. Not because I can’t figure it out, but because they locked us out and “it’s not my job.”

This commercial. They played it like ten times last night during the Suns/Pels game. I find it amusing that a bunch of professionals in a high rise office come up with this shit thinking that it's going to trigger a buying response because, you know... turtles!

Every time I see that new Kia logo I think to myself, “whoa, new car company named KN?”.

Hmm, soundtrack by Joe 'Strummer. I will have to check it out. According to Wikipedia it doesn't seem to be available streaming. Fortunately I still have a working VHS machine. (At least it worked the last time I used it, which was in the previous millenium.)
