Don't see the problem. Corolla *is* an intermediate (midsize) and Camry is a full size.

Dude needs a Crown Vic, that's a full fuckin size car. I recommend rent-a-wreck, best odds of scoring one.

From a WP article about the Caldor fire.
"SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — It looked like twilight at midday here, then a billow of smoke made the sun vanish entirely on a sharp bend around Inspiration Point. The redwoods and firs, old and graceful and lovely, now resembled nothing so much as fuel for a fire still menacing one of California’s great natural wonders and the people who make a living from it."

Redwoods? Turns out there are 6 actual Sierra redwoods (that's what they seem to be calling Giant Sequoias these days) about 20 miles due west of Tahoe in the middle of nowhere. Pretty sure the reporter didn't see them from Inspiration Point (at Emerald Bay on Hwy 89 along the shore of Tahoe).

Ha! I guess it's a Sierra Nevada commonplace. I'm surprised that the writer didn't throw John Muir or Ansel Adams into the mix.

    Things That Amuse You

Still amused when “the news” tells you every night that you’ll die if you go out in public.…..then an hour later announcers tell you how awesome it is to have a sellout crowd at the Ohio State/Minnesota game tonight…..

That headline is missing something crucial.

    11/10 for commitment.

Not sure if things belongs in things that amuse you or thing that annoy you thread.

Our range scientist was up on the CDT trail yesterday hiking and checking on some range enclosures for a study. A group of bow hunters had set up their camp inside one of the range closure. They had their tent, gear, everything in the enclosure. They had to climb over wire fencing to do this. Then they set up their electric wire fence around this. She was more amused than annoyed. We are wondering what they think this enclosure is and what it’s going to protect them from. A bear?

She said they must have seen the bow hunters earlier on their way up since they were the only people they saw and these guys were all decked out in thousands of dollars of brand new gear.

She left them a note. I guess now we will have to make signs to put on range enclosure to educate people about what they are?

2bjenny can likely answer better but it is a fenced in area located in the middle of a grazing allotment. The fenced area excludes cows/sheep and allows the easy comparison for monitoring grazing effects.

Plus they exclude grizzly bears evidently.

And why does it make a difference if they camp there?
