    Equal parts annoying and amusing:

Got my son a model rocket for Xmas, a basic B-engine Estes. On Saturday we took it to the biggest sports field complex around for the maiden flight. Slightly overcast with a pretty high ceiling, little to no wind at ground level. Engine ignites, it soars so high we lose sight/sound of it, and never see it again. Shitballs!

Maybe it docked with the Amazon mothership.

I learned today that Joe Kennedy wasn't a bootlegger. It was some other Joseph Kennedy--a Canadian--who put his name on the bottles he smuggled into the US.

It's buried in this book review--https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2020/12/07/why-new-yorks-mob-mythology-endures
The article cites as its source a biography of Joe Kennedy --David Nasaw, in “The Patriarch,”

My phone just reminded me of this picture from over a decade of Todd Helton giving me a hug while I point to the red Sox banner when the Sox swept for the ws.

    Good times!

And, yes, I was over the dugout for game 4. Scored face club tickets in the lottery. Suck it irul. Team ice.

My kid always wears his Curry jersey to watch Warriors games. He also plays with Legos. He's 33 years old.

    Things That Amuse You

My soon to be 15yo telling me that having any limits/logging of her internet access on her iPhone XS are overly restrictive and controlling. This is the same discussion where we are talking about giving her a data plan.

I'm so fucking glad I grew up before the smartphone became ubiquitous. Would have just been one more thing to start conflagrations between my parents and me.
