Dumbass wannabe off roaders in Socal. Above Orange County there is a truck trail that runs the length of the Santa Ana mountains. It's a legit mountain road traversing steep slopes and rugged peaks, and often sees snow and heavy rain in winter. Forest Service closes it following storms. Every time it reopens big groups head up there....Tacoma bros, jeep clubs, Bronco convoys, motos, other off road groups. Every week when the gates are open, people end up upside down. There is an instagram account just for this road... @maplespringscantdrive

This one is more like something that bemuses me. There is some gas main work going on down the street from my house, so they've got a barricade (but still allows enough space to drive through) and a "local access only" sign up at the intersection. There was a worker stationed there all week. All he does is stand there. I suppose if someone rolls down their window and asks him a question he responds, but otherwise all the locals are just rolling through and he doesn't stop anyone to check if they live there. How on earth is this something that is needed? Furthermore, my God that must be a boring job!

Recovery plus towing has got to be expensive. Any vehicle left up there for more than a day gets stripped and vandalized. I'm sure a lot of people just report them stolen. And some likely are stolen.

1) that sound pressure levels are not equated with volume; it is crazy how much damage or effect can be produced deeply through waves of pressure levels without a noticeable change in volume;
2) that innocence in character as a child does finally give way to the realization that most people lie all the time;
3) watching and knowing people lie in the flesh gives satisfaction - see point three, but to watch the act is the kink; and
4) waiting to call them out on it, knowing that they know they are liars, and their lives depend on it and choosing how to respond.
5) to profit or not, that is the question isn't it. One must pay for their infidelity, or perhaps not?

I put in a lot on miles/hours training, racing, and volunteering here. Deceptively rugged place.

I never encountered much in the way of recreational vehicles, though. This was mostly in the late 80s through late 90s in the Ortega Hwy region.
