Chem warmers
any thoughts on whether chemical hand warmers leave a residue on
your hands that could contaminate your line, leader or terminal gear?"we all do dumb shit when we're fucked up" mike tyson

Last fall I was shuttling a guy from austria, every morning at 6am in the truck he would fill/ light 2 of those heaters that run on lighter fluid, he put one in each pocket of the fleece vest he was wearing, said it warmed his core a little, he was fishing 11 hr days and catching the steelhead too

If you are so worried, carefully open them and drop them into a plastic ziploc...then shake and put in your pocket. You are making a bunch of unnecessary waste that will sit in a pile for thousands of years, might as well add a plastic baggy to the mix.
You could also get the reusable ones that have the silver disc in them, that once used, you boil for the net time. No chemicals there to get on your line or inside your nose when you are pulling out frozen crusty boogers on the river."We had nice 3 days in your autonomous mountain realm last weekend." - Tom from Austria (the Rax ski guy)
