Hah. Nice penis shifter. Literally. The shifter looks penile.
I don’t get the bolt a car to a truck frame. And walk away.
If they had spent a little more on blending lines and bumpers and fender flares that could have been badass.

Boy, used prices have really hit the skids, or one could say coming back to normal. 2007 FJ's aren't selling for 45K anymore.
Kinda curious how things play out on used pricing. You couldn't get a new car for 2 years, so that scarcity has to eventually roll into the used market (the average lease is 3-4 years?) But some parts are still a bitch to source...but then it looks like new cars are starting to trickle back into inventory to save the day and people are buying more electrics."timberridge is terminally vapid" -- a fortune cookie in Yueyang

Would be great if there were historical sales plotting tools for any/all used cars like they have on BAT. That info is invaluable.

That actually is a good tool given the average condition of the cars on there so its easy to compare across sales over time.
On the other hand I'll leave it to our developer friends to come up with the algorithm that tells me if the sale of one shitbox for $2,100 was on the same bellcurve of decay as the mint example from the same model year that went for $21,000.I still call it The Jake.

Used car prices aren't really coming back into focus because the cars that are for sale are mostly garbage. The good stuff, cars coming off lease, aren't really showing up in force. Something like 80% of leases are being bought out not turned in. The average age of cars on the road has gone up significantly and is still going up. Take a look at how long the lowering priced cars have been on the market or look at the Carfax and see they they've been bouncing between dealers then read into it that it's because they're shitty cars and don't sell the first few times. Even though I can't afford it I went to look at what seemed like a nice 2019 Fit CPO and it had been run over curbs or lot dividers and was all bashed up underneath with expando foam filling gaps so it wouldn't leak. Garbage for sale for $17k!

I'm not sure what kind of garbage you guys are looking at, but the wife and I have been shopping for mid size three row SUV's for about 6 months. The supply is good, and the prices are definitely coming back down. If you're looking for some POS in the $2K range, maybe it's different. I'm certainly not going to make an assumption on the used car market by looking at useless niche Toyota's on BAT, or shitbox minivans on Craigslist.

Yeah I never look for SUVs, especially 3 row rigs. This time around I'm looking at new(ish) econoboxes or something the size of a Mazda CX30. I do try to pay attention to other stuff and all I see is 3 years old with 100k or more for original or nearly new price and everything that looks even sort of good disappears in very little time. The local new car dealers have next to nothing used on their lots unless they're hiding them.
