Random car thoughts. A Couple weeks ago I was thinking I really want to go back to a 2 door now that the nest was emptying.. But, AWD would still be useful from time to time. More important that it LOOKS cool. So 2 doors, not 4 is a deal breaker. Then I saw it.. never been a MOPAR guy but the Challenger Sport AWD seems to check all my boxes. But I don't see many out there. Are they rare as hen's teeth?
What else is there that's cool looking, 2 door, and AWD other than the older Subie WRX? It's OK if it's not FAST, but important that it looks fast..Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

Ya trying to keep it in the same price point as the Dodge and Subie options ($25-$35K). Needs to be less than 5 years old too. So hard no to all of those..

Based on your price range, I think a hot FWD hatch like a Veloster N would be better in snow than a Challenger.

New GR Corolla should be rad if you can get one. My BRZ is filling the fun factor quite nicely. If you have more coin, the new CT4 and 5vs are supposed to be amazing (albeit RWD).
Challenger is a pig that's only redeeming values are comfort and a large engine bay. I wouldn't go there for fun.

I dunno, I went and bought a brand new Challenger when the Pentastar 3.6 came out and it was an awfully nice car. It was plenty quick, cruised like a luxury car on the open road, handled surprisingly well for a 4200 pound brick albeit with more body lean in tight corners than I would've liked but that's solvable. Even with only RWD it was predictable and competent in the snow. It got better mpg at 75-80 than 55-65, I could get 35mpg on a straight highway run and averaged 23 for the 9 months I owned it. I would have been happy to keep it for a long time but a woman ran a stop sign at 55mph and took me out. My whole family unbuckled their seat belts and we were able to open both doors to get out. I can vouch for it being a really safe car.
