Not sure how that would help if it's a narrow road but it would help turning around. I once had to drive .75 in reverse to find a turn-around after hitting a dead end. Might help to get a 6" lift if yer on those types of roads though.

I'm after some advice on dealing with insurance and our stolen vehicle. Saturday night, the local Sherrif called us in the middle of the night to say that my wife's stolen AllTrack was recovered. The kicker there is that our carrier, State Farm, had reached a settlement amount with my wife and was in process of paying off the car. But because of either the ineptitude of the credit union or State Farm (there was a fax involved... who the fuck uses a fax anymore!?), the pay-off we delayed. And now that the vehicle has been recovered, the payoff process is on hold.

I had a chance to see the car and it's pretty fucked; popped front tire w/possible wheel cracking or damage, this also means damaged suspension components, radiator was cracked and spewing fluid, the witness that called it all in said the car was smoking, the moonroof won't close, the inside while not a soup kitchen, was smoked in and trashed a bit. The entirety of the front fascia will need to be replaced, and they clearly drove over something big and destroyed the underbody spoilers and possibly damaged the undercarriage. It was smoked in and generally treated like a beat rental.

State Famr now wants to evaluate it for a repair/rebuild. We want it totaled, my wife especially. In talking with the adjuster, we must play the waiting game while they virtually (again, WTF) evaluate damage.

Who here with experience can share any advice? Or how to move towards a total loss?

Fuck man, I don't know. The best I could infer from the adjuster (in another region of the country, no less) was that State Farm uses a contracted facility to estimate and evaluate?
