    Thanks Bobby.
My LR3 is dead. Not willing to put more money into it. Financially I probably need to buy something in the sub $20k range...but.
I travel for work a fair amount, in sales. Can’t really drive a beater or shitty looking car. Need reliability.

Want an SUV. Carrying shit around, fishing/camping. Some off pavement. Want reliability.
Started looking at 4runners. Ones that are appealing are in the 30’s, high 20’s with around 20-40k miles. Then found the GX460, nicer, has decent off-road chops. Can be had very close to what I can get a 4Runner.
Now, looking at LX570’s. Finding some with 100k plus miles in the high 20’s, a few sub 100k miles in the 30’s.
    Anyone care to advise?

I abhor everything about the Cullinan, and laugh when I see several daily, and despite this guy now being the superstar for my favorite football team, I believe he is equally, if not more, deserving of my ridicule for this monstrosity.

Nice thing honestly about the current GX is that it hasn't been redesigned in so many years, that it makes more sense to be purchased used and they have the kinks worked out on just about any year. Makes shopping easier since the engine and drive train are untouched. just find one in the color and mileage you want. I shopped for one for the wife earlier this year and there is virtually no difference in years after 2009 redesign. Grill changes to the predator looking one around 2013 or so, maybe. I think they are a better value then the 4runner to be honest. They start out more expensive but sell used for the same amount give or take. Plus you know around charlotte the most offroading the GX has seen was when they were repaving the outside South Park Mall.

I’m guessing the exterior is a wrap, and I have no idea what it would take to swap out all that orange leather, but I think it would just be easier to light stacks of $100 bills on fire and call it good.

So any good (and free would be nice) Vin decoder that would provide a look-up of the options and various unique codes for option bundles?

If you Google around there should be some manufacturer specific ones, but only if that logic is stored in the VIN.

It is stored there- Insurance companies and the GM dealers parts desks can definitely provide the details and all options that the vehicle had. Of course Insurance companies probably either pay and subscribe to one of the high end best ones, so maybe time to contact my Insurance company and ask what the rates would be and if they can send over their report??

I know things like Toyota vins notoriously getting certain details wrong.
