I think only one of those questions is actually important to you. The first step is admitting you have a problem?
Funny, didn't say if it was manual or not. I had just assumed it was. Forgot that it could be automatic.[quote][//quote]

They also came in RHD.

I am certainly assuming it is not RHD. AFAIK car was purchased and has always been in the U.S.

Manual or Auto is a big determining factor. Bromo might have a better idea of value. Those are coming back into popularity and so the price is going up.
So the wheels are off a center lock car or supposed to look like it. And new aftermarket brakes. Neither help the "value" if the car but were likely cheaper and better options than OEM.
Id say low 20s shooting from the hip. Id have to do some research as I have never had one."I don't pretend to have all the answers, and I think there's something to be said for that" -One For The Road

OK, interesting. That's lower than I expected. I assume if manual a little higher price? I thought the 928S was supposed to be pretty good (as in, I was expecting it to command more money).

I really don't trust 80s and 90s cars with low mileage. Cars should be driven for optimal performance. Seals and moving parts will wear better. I would rather have a 100k mile Porsche than a 30k mile Porsche from just about any era.
Then again most BAT peeps just want the status and not the maintenance of a classic car. As a DIY guy I just don't get not driving these cars.

Thanks. At that price I guess I can't afford not to buy it.

I loved the 928. Mine was an auto. It was a fantastic daily commuter car, and it hauled ass for extended periods across southern Idaho, and was very comfortable. Loved it.
The electrical systems on these are crazy. But often a good cleaning of all the grounds will bring stuff back to life. Very maintenance intensive, crazy timing belt jobs, transaxle clutch jobs, auto flex plate tensioning. But very satisfying to drive.

This car also eats up the miles with similar aplomb in a vintage style with V8 power. Manual tranmissions are a little more affordable than the 928, and the electrical systems are WAY more down to earth, ( and generally quite reliable). Just took this thing down to Torrey UT at sustained high speeds and it was fantastic.
Into this car about $4500. 95 540i 6 speed trans. 4.0 V8. Not really in Bobby's wheelhouse. But squarely in mine.

Ok, maybe not exact same then...
He actually had three. The black e34 540i V8 6MT was the first, and 100% factory. Really great car. It was replaced by an e39 sedan with an M62TU V8. Still fast, but it felt big. That was replaced by E61 wagon with the I6 (boring, but practical).

Yeah, we had an e61 wagon. Nice, kind of boring. Not reliable at all. Fixing leaks, electrical bullshit. Fuck the new ones.
This was an original he53 540i/6 sport. But it has lived a hard life. Someone else did most of the changes. The m5 trans was a straight swap. Brakes are bigger than a stock 540i. Cooling system parts are straight matching part number swap. Best BMWs in my humble opinion. Love this car.

Yeah, I agree. He should've kept it, but they were all leases.

I loved the 928. Mag is Walker is talking about picking one up. Values may take off.
