Wait so does this mean new vehicles are languishing in the lot, or sales are strong in both New and used? People spending stimulus money? Preparing for end times? I don’t really want a new vehicle but if they are a bargain I could.

I am shopping for a truck. Am wondering if there is way to find a specific vehicle. I am looking for an f150, 3.5 with 7850 GVWR. the sites I am checking have many trucks but very difficult to find by GVWR. I am not totally opposed to buying new however I would rather not. I found this truck in the town I live in. It is a 2016 with 40000 miles. A little more miles and older than ideal. Also it has spent its life next to the ocean so I worry about electrical issues. Hoping to find out what is available before I take the easy route and buy the local truck.

09 Outback with 85k original miles. It looks amazing. Could get it for $6,000.
Some side damage. Doors were replaced. Hopefully that's it. Am I crazy? Lots of Subaru flippers in Missoula. One of those guys. Tires look good. Looks like it needs new brake pads in front maybe. Spark plugs around that mileage? Date on Battery is 3 years ago. Don't see any oil anywhere or smell anything burning.
I drove it. I pressed all the buttons. Any reason I shouldn't if nothing in Carfax?

The frame could have been bent when the thing that caused the doors to need to be replaced happened :/

    Everything in this snipped post.

I'm anti Subaru because of head gaskets and the generally shitty build quality of Mrs C's 2009 Outback.

But a car from a flipper, with both doors replaced on one side... Run, far away.

Right? I didn’t know they could put so many red flags in one listing.

Is it me or are Suby sellers just robbing people in certain parts of the country?

Not sure what the deal is. Anything Japanese is insane. American isn't far behind in insanity, and that's without counting diesel.

Is there a reason you want a Subaru and not some other, more reliable brand?

I have a 1995 2.2L, 245,000 miles and a 2005 2.5L 142,000 miles that says otherwise. And yes I'm pissed at Subaru for the head gasket fiasco, mine leaked oil outward very minor. I had them replaced, probably didn't need to, good for another 120k easy now

Subarus seem to have this odd thing where most of them are very good, but some of them are a bit of a lemon. I guess every manufacturer has their quirks.

2014 Impreza sport wagon passed mechanical inspection. Sign the papers at my bank tomorrow and it's mine!
My bank think I'm a responsible adult, lol. Meh, $6,000 loan isn't a lot.

was in the market starting June 15 bought 7/3 (third row thread). Steezus H christ the market sucked. I was seen stuff on the low-rent used dealer lots bought at auction from far away going at ridiculous prices.

I hear ya. I tried to get the discussion started on my Great White Buffalo when I found a pretty damned good example of her in Seattle but the buy-here-pay-here place wouldn't even consider budging from the price which was about $2,500 over KBB on a 25 year old car with body damage. WTF?

I paid $11k for my new to me 2014 Impreza sport wagon with 66,500 on the odometer. Dude was super chill and helpful (private party. This Kyle was very much not a Kyle). Bank loaned me some money like a real adult. Took it out for a nice long drive. Coming from a 2003 Legacy that was falling apart and nothing worked that I've had for 14 years, it's like I upgraded to the Millennium Falcon. Wally approves.
Anyway, anyone need a project car? Title is clean.

Hahaha, I have a bunch of my brother's fish stickers, but I'm gonna go with one of his Dall Sheep skulls since not only do I not fish, but he used them in his signature. They look bad ass.
