I had a 91 GTI, but at least part of the time I owned it included plaid front seats from another year of Mk2. I miss driving that car; it may have had a third of the HP of the truck I drive now, but it was a bit more than half the weight and was sooo much fun in the corners. And yes, it was a five-speed with awesome feel once I replaced all the motor mounts with aluminum.
I do not miss wrenching on it or the racket going down the highway, however.

While I know manual Lamborghinis are a thing of the past, perhaps proving you can drive stick to begin with can be a pre-requisite to GET a Lambo demo. Shows you can actually freaking drive to begin with, ya know? Personally, if I owned an exotic and a friend wanted to drive it, if they didn't even know how to drive stick, then no effing way. Rides only, loser. But if they drive a stick, then have at it! [tosses keys to buddy]
People who don't know how to operate a clutch/throttle in concert are the same people who crash brand new cars in parking lots due to not understanding that the throttle pedal is not binary. LMAO

Checking to see what accounts I can liquidate without anyone noticing, that's what we're doing.
Right? Such a great looking build; I'm a total sucker for patterned seat inserts.
Porsche does color so damned well. It's why so many others borrow their paints.I still call it The Jake.

Thanks for the wisdom, all. Bought lightly used '16 a veloster with the 1.4L turbo and 6mt. Fun little bugger to whip around already. Def gonna leave my truck in the garage some days and commute to work in it until he gets an actual license and can drive it unaccompanied.
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
Cletus: Duly noted.
