License plates have some variation of “Stonks” or “YOLOGME” on them?

Not yet, but those are great ideas. I'll suggest them at the next redlight.

So, did Hennessey ever do a Land Rover LR4, or did this owner just buy a license plate frame on eBay?

Seen in the parking lot of a Walmart in Reno, its natural GOTOS setting.

I don't think they did, but talk about a fun mashup, loads of power and an electrical system that wouldn't know what to do with any of it.

I don't think it's out of the question that they did a few one offs. The LR4 did get the 5.0 SC Jag motor so there's room to make it better and Hennessey would be a good one to do it. I know a few that are pushing 700hp in their Range Rovers with that motor.

So one of our daughters is thinking it's time for her to have her own car and she has her heart set on new because she knows nothing about cars and wants nothing to do with the problems her parents are always dealing with. Finding those great lease deals is pretty tough right now, is there anyone doing re-leasing on off lease cars?

I think the last of the LR4s had the supercharged V6. I recently had a 15 and thats what it had.

Yeah the 5.0 in the LR4 was normally aspirated. The 3.0 was SC. That license plate is probably an ode to the liquor. Was it driven by a rapper?

I'm trying to figure out what a minty 2014 Shelby Raptor with Baja (700) with less than 25K miles is worth. Does anyone have any knowledge?

    That's super clean looking.

I've got a brother in law who has been bit by the Land Rover bug and he is looking into picking up a LR4 as a secondary kid shuttle.

I know I'm probably silly to ask, but what's the long-term experience/outlook on owning one of these?

It's the same platform as the older LR3 and Sport. 2016 is the end of the line for that platform so you are getting a decently sorted out vehicle problem wise. The 5.0 is bulletproof, I dunno much about the 3.0 SC but I haven't heard many major issues.
Look for air suspension problems, and the normal electrical gremlins--make sure all the switches work, check under front passenger carpet for any past moisture issues. There's a big wire loom that runs along the passenger sill that gets attacked if the sunroof drains are plugged and dumps water down there. Otherwise you should get 250K out of one easily.

The 5.0 is a kickass motor IF the timing chains have already been done. If it's still under on mileage you'll pay more for the low mileage and still have the privilege of spending $5k when they need to be done. If it's had the oil changed regularly at 5k miles or less it could go forever on the original chains.

    260K, original chains on 4.4.

IMHO, that 5.0 Jag AGV8 motor is one of the best ever made.

The 4.4 Jag AGV8 in the LR3 is a peach too.
Btw. The LR3 is worth a look if he comes across a nice example. It's basically the same as LR4 minus the styling and interior bits. Though engine options are different.

That's amazing. Is this your whip that you replace the bushings on every so often to keep it tight?

Yeah they all eat swaybar bushings every 15-20K or so. If he hears a knocking sound up front on the test drive going over bumps, its a good bet it's those. Easy to replace, just chuck it on the lift and make sure it's not something more than that before buying.

    Yo,

Wifey wants a Macan S, can't find a new one in Puget Sound area.

Do you have any leads on one? Prefer new or CPO.

    thanks

If it's that ez to drop the subframe I'll head over to your place so you can teach me how to do it. I'll get the parts ordered up and come by next week

Its got a mileage inconsistency on the Carfax. Its also been bought and sold at auction the last few transactions. Something is wrong with that car.
