Bobby's used car lot and Free Carfax

Bobby can you editorialize the cars the users are chasing. More fun that way

No need for a carfax, BS, but interested in your thoughts on the value of the deal I am being offered on this: 1C4RJFCG5KC843774

Wife's company has a corporate deal with Jeep that gets us 2% under invoice. Add in customer loyalty cash & other incentives totaling ~$7500 (it's a fairly premium 2019 that they seem to want to move), and it brings us down from a sticker of $53,235 to $42,294. Seems like a pretty damn good deal to me, as we were initially looking at a Limited with many less features that they seemed less motivated to deal on that would actually cost us more to buy. Hell, I paid $42 for less of a jeep 12 years ago. Seems like a damn good deal, or am I missing something obvious?

Appreciate any thoughts/insights you'd care to share.

$42K for a jeep just because it's got some luxo bits. What in the fucking fuck?

    Ha! I was gonna say: it's a Jeep...so it's not a good deal.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

I hear ya - sorta - but I've owned 4 grand cherokees and my experience with them has been great. Had a 94 Ltd that got into an accident in 98. It had 115k largely trouble free miles before the accident. Insurance paid to have it fixed, but I sold since they had to straighten the frame. Replaced it with a 98 5.9 Ltd that was stolen after 6 months. Replaced that with a 98 TSI that I owned for ~10 years, 175k miles. I traded that to splat and as of last year he was still driving it, 20 years after it rolled off the assembly line. That got replaced with an 07 Ltd that's about to roll 200k. Everything still works, but it's getting worn and showing its age cosmetically. We're actually keeping it for a train car as it is still under warranty (lifetime).

So the question wasn't really about ones willingness to spend north of 40k on a jeep being a good idea, but rather if the 11k off sticker is a solid deal based on the experience of someone who sells cars

Looks like the Post Office Square garage. I would definitely not park it there, those spaces suck.

Someone murdered BMW’s design language, way worse than anything Bangle did. That 8 series is a bloated mess.

All they make now are buck-toothed crossovers and a few nice sedans like the 3 and 5 which won’t be messed with too much I think because something has to sell at the end of the day.

Yes, the overly busy design trend for luxo imports seems to be a thing. Couple that with whatever the fuck these things are and you've got one expensive heap of garbage:

Seriously. WTF is up with their giganto grills they're all going for these days? Lexus is going ALL grill too. This trend is quickly getting out of hand. Hopefully this design language will shortly be going the way of the tail fin.
