I have all of their CDs and so stoked for the digital options, but been way to long since 10,000 Days and so ready for some new shit... Puscifer and APC have been filling the void for me, but TOOL is second to none... Now I just need Staind back in the studio...

I wonder if there will be any bonus content on the download front. Wouldn't surprise me from a marketing standpoint.

Either way, for 18 years, my new phone ritual was transferring contacts, pics and Tool albums. Glad they're making them available for download.

    MJK on Rogan's podcast.

Disappointed to find no discussion on the new album. But there was some good rambling about staph infections and wild pigs... rolleyes

    It's been leaked!
If after nearly 15 years you can't wait another 5 days, it's up on at least 1 torrent site.

I was getting nostalgic and found an pretty good bootleg of the 2001 Lateralus tour show I was at:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ_cwukgXc4

I have seen them several times after, but that was by far the best show. I always like outdoor venues.

^^^Opiate small stage tour would have been awesome to see. That is a really good recording, must have been plugged into the sound system, can't hear the crowd.

Thanks for posting that. I had forgotten about that. I saw lolla 93 and actually wasnt very impressed at the time. Mostly from my growing disillusion for festivals.

I was in my prime fest time with a head full of substances. Went to all the first ones, then bailed on the one with Hole and forget who and haven't been to one since. It's just too long of a day anymore, especially without the head full of substances.

I drove down from Montana with three friends to see Tool at the Salt Air in SLC, it was in November and Brighton was open so we skied a few groomers before th show. That’s all that was open. And met some old SLC friends and went to the concert later. I was sober at the time and have no regrets.

When I heard this song start, I was pretty confused for a bit on what song it was. Crowd sounds are fake though, the rest was not. His voice early on was incredible as you probably know . Now it’s different. Crazy show and great to see them in such a small venue right at the stage before they only played stadiums or festivals.

"If you haven't already scheduled a vacation day for Tool Day as I have, you might be in a tough spot. A Reddit thread suggests that the album should be available on Spotify (my streaming service of choice) at midnight EST. And this thing is long. The digital album is said to run 86+ minutes (hard-copy 79+)."

It's up on Spotify. Holy fuck, here we go.

Listened to a recent interview with Danny Carey... he said they spent 4 years Mon-Thu 1-5 developing the music for this album.
