You should have seen the crowd standing outside of the Texas BBQ place next to my motel in Des Moines. Oink.

Somebody should market camo socks. Pretty much everything else is taken.

Iowa also produces 3 times as much corn as Mexico.

Well it's probably the best place in the world to grow corn, so what? Mexico grows a lot more chile peppers and avocados, among many other things, and has a big trade surplus with the US in agriculture.

this is the crazy thing about pigs...

"Any pig that gets out can revert back in a matter of months to a state where it can exist in the wild," said Brown. "It will get hairy, grow tusks and get aggressive. They're so good at adapting, and with their scavenging nature, they can get by pretty much anywhere."

Did you know that all of the corn in Iowa leans North?
Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

    Wisconsin & Illinois suck too.

in that section of the upper midwest it's interesting to look at the 3 overlapping transportation development routes. early settlement was all river driven, then it was railway driven, now highway driven. All in under 200 years.

But of course! On the days Minnesota doesn't suck quite as hard, the corn instead leans ENE.

When my daughter was at Wisconsin we decided that Minnesota sucks and Michigan blows. If it was the other way around Wisconsin would fall in the lake.

Economists have correctly predicted major stock market crashes 10 out of the last 3 times, with 95 percent confidence, 63 percent of the time.

Also, 78.34 percent of statistics are made up on the spot.

Also doesn't hurt that US ag subsidies make it nearly impossible to lose money growing corn. #totallynotwelfare

It may be a Venn diagram kinda thing. Not mutually exclusive.

Hey Minnesota, I was psyched to see that you guys had the most kids on this year's (admittedly undermanned, but it's hardly the kids' fault when they're playing KHL rosters and they're in college) Olympic team, nice work.

edit: Oh wait that was Massachusetts. My bad.

    Looks legit.

    2016 PA nominal GDP: ~ 720 billion
    2017 SA nominal GDP: ~ 680 billion

Interesting. Thank you for pulling away from the fucking/Thanksgiving thread and contributing.
