    A little wet/rotten ... like a little pregnant? Well helicoils are worth a shot, but I'd watch these skis, 'coz mildew can be pervasive.

    You're right, if you're coming out of the heels, it not an upward toe problem. Burlier skis, and fixing core shots more quickly?

    Personally, I wouldn't install inserts on new skis just to help with binding retention. I would absolutely helicoil any spinners, but I don't think inserts are worth the hassle for the marginal increase in retention. If I was that concerned about a new mount in a new ski, I would t-nut instead.

    And if you're worried about retention, I wouldn't recommend swapping bindings between skis. It just takes one time of not tightening the screws enough or not using vibratite, etc, and you risk a pullout. Just buy some STH for the Wrens, mount them up with some slow-set epoxy (hopefully no spinners, but helicoil any if they happen), and call it a day.

    No. If you're relying on a single sheet of metal to hold your bindings down, you're already screwed.
