Official Group Buy Thread for Salomon S/LAB SHIFT Binders

    Edit and Update:

Salomon has requested we close the group buy early. If you got your order in, you're good! I apologize to anyone who was planning on buying before March 31 but did not get to.

467.50 might not be enough for me. With active junky and 5% from a credit card I’ll likely be able to get close, match, or beat that buying from bc with free shipping, a great return policy and no money up front.

Edit: Well with the finalized deal and free shipping this looks like a go for me. A pair or two. Hopefully we can hit 30 pairs! Thanks for putting this together!

Noted. If that makes more sense for you, I encourage you to pursue that. I am trying my best over here to get us the best deal possible

Following. And thanks for organizing even if I don't partake. It's gotta be a lot of work.

Also, how are we indicating what brake width we want?

    +1. +1.

Appreciate the organizing. 20% off seems fair -- though with Evo/BC + ActiveJunky and CC most of us can get close to that. Suppose we can pay TMS with a cc to grab a few more. Anyone worked with TMS remotely for warranty issues etc that can vouch?

Any chance if TMS or someone else can say whether these will ship with a template? Or will it be brew our-own?

    Paypal: davepolivy@tahoemountainsports.com

Other options: Credit Card invoice (Visa, MC, Discovery) by emailing dave@tahoemountainsports.com (this is different than the paypal address above)

When ordering, reference this group buy and provide the following information (either in paypal notes or in your email to Dave requesting credit card invoice):

    - brake size
    - billing address
    - shipping address
    - phone

We can ask the Tahoe thread. TMS has a reputation for excellent customer service but I don't know anyone first hand, no.

    I'll check with Dave

$250 down by mar 31. Then you have 6 months to find another 200 bucks in your couch

    Mounting update:

Assumption with a paper template but no one knows what's gonna be in the box. I hit up onenerdykid lobbying for a template (think he's the head boot designer at atomic)

We should get in the AMA thread about the template!

    1) Update on brake width. Looks like a lot. In your order, be sure to list one of the following.

    Brake Widths: 90 | 100 | 110 | 120

    2) We have 3 orders already! but only one update on the spreadsheet. if you preordered, please add yourself!

I'm inclined to get the 110 brake and try to make them work on a wider ski 116-118, than get the 120 brake. Thoughts?

That's what I'm doing. I have never owned a 120 brake and hopefully never will after skiing some demos with 120 brakes

Put my deposit down for two pairs. TMS is a good local shop. Thanks again for putting this together.

What do you mean by this comment about 120 brakes?

Was targeting these going on Protests (128mm) as a Japan travel ski.

I meant I demo'd a 115mm ski with a 120mm brake (demo Griffin's) and the brakes didn't clear the ski. I hooked myself and spilled. Nothing to do with the shifts!

I keep seeing a lot of Protest or GPO tour setups. Little intimidating

Just a headsup for people on getting the brakes. While touring it's pretty easy to hook one brake on the other. When that happens the ski/walk mode switch pops open and the brakes then deploy. It's a bit annoying but doesn't massively negatively affect the binding but it happens. And it will be more likely to happen if the brakes are too wide.

I've a question in to the SHIFT designers to see if this issue can be resolved. It's a known issue because this does happen also with the Salomon MTN and Atomic Backland bindings both of have similar designed brakes (see pics in that separate thread).
