I’m not looking for an authentic history or high moral mission from ice cream. If it tastes good, it is enough. I spoke to a guy who opened a fancy ice cream place/ burger joint in my town that had just over-the-top delicious ice cream and shakes and he said it was just fat content. The ice cream with the highest fat content tasted the best, regardless of the other ingredients. I don’t know if that’s true but his ice cream tasted awesome.

I’m partial, but The Creamery on campus at Penn State University has always been “my” favorite…Peanut Butter Swirl.

A family owned Coutts Ice Cream here at home on Lake Wallenpaupack is putting out some really good stuff…..and yes they have Peanut Butter Swirl which is really damn good too.

Nostalgia. That's what makes me have a Ben and Jerry's once in a great every few years while. They also have a factory in my town.

I was 8 or 9 I think when the gas station location started. I have fond memories of that. And the yearly free cone giveaway in the park on their birthday. My parents were a little put out when they started making it in a factory in Waterbury. The Cherry St and So. Winooski location was a favorite In HS we would go there stoned AF and for 99 cents one could get a pint of seconds. And a spoon. Anyone remember what was in that building before ice cream? I have a vague memory of something Alpine themed. And or a fabric shop.

And for the record, Cherry Garcia is nasty. Of course generally I am not a fan of chocolate based ice cream. I prefer coffee or vanilla as the base. Heath Bar Crunch was my favorite. I might be high, was there a coffee heath bar crunch once upon a time? That would rock.

Cherry Garcia is not chocolate based. It has big pieces of chocolate in it but the base is cherry/vanilla ice cream.

Here's a great ice cream that I used to be able to get here in W2 but sadly no more. Their Mountain Blackberry and Mulkiteo Mudd are wonderful.

I wasn't wrong. What happened is that I tried CHOCOLATE Cherry Garcia when it was available and it left such a horrible taste in my mouth that it completely blocked out regular Cherry Garcia. I never jumped on the CG bandwagon anyway, unlike some people.
