Hunting season...I guess that means it's pretty much over soon. We'll have snow before the end most likely.

They just posted in a FB thread that they're closing for mountain biking on 11/5 for the season. They also said that they put the trail map on Trailforks.

Forecast says rain, then it ends up all snow. I snuck in a quick 9 miles while light snow fell. So nice. Still dumping as I sip a Hill Farmstead in Waterbury.

Got out today for my first real mt ride in 3 months due to the slowest healing hand injury ever. Other than being slower than usual it felt pretty good but I was being tentative due to the hand and being on a new bike that I'd never ridden before. The bike was better than I was I'm sure not sold on this wide bar thing though, figure I'll give it a few tries before swapping bars to something more reasonable. Of course now it looks like it's gonna be wet more often than dry and there's a fair chance at some white stuff even down here around the 13th. Looks like I'll be riding in the rain and mud

Curious if anyone is signed up for the Dust 'em Off Fat Bike ride up in Stowe on 11/17. 20+ miles of all types of trail and road.

    https://www.eventbrite.com/e/dust-em...ts-51632967596

I'll be there with a small crew and will be happily drinking beers at Ranch Camp afterwards.

18 NE - Go on, ride when it's wet

Howís the riding up in VT right now? Iíll be working in Burlington next week and debating on bringing the bike. Looks like Monday and Friday I could ride. Wanted to hit Cady Hill...but any spots better than others this time of year in term of leaf fall etc.

Was originally thinking of bringing skis but weather looks pretty mild...

Check websites and facebook to see who's closed for hunting. Youth hunting is this weekend, then rifles through the beginning of Dec. Even if they do allow bikes, wear orange and make noise.

Its also been raining like crazy up here. Trails may dry out a bit over the weekend so I'd check Trailhub.

Cady was rolling great a week ago.

That looks like fun. Might just have to sign up if I can get my rear fatbike wheel fixed in time.

All state lands including Perry Hill are closed for the season.

We hauled about 50 buckets is shur-pac after work today into a section of trail on USFS land. The trail was wetter than Iíve seen in 15+ years. Itís a fuckin swamp out there right now.

Well shit...between that and hunting, is there anywhere safe to ride assuming things dry up?

Could try saxon hill or sunny hollow. Sunny is 10 mins from burlington, saxon is 20ish but way more fun. Both pretty sandy so they dry quick.

You could pop across the lake and hit the Ausable Chasm trails. There's over 20 miles of twisty turny goodness over there. http://ausablechasm.com/Things-to-Do...in-bike-trails

"We" were so grateful to have the trails on state land legalized and mapped that "we" let them tell us when to close and open them.
