You had a bad day as I have had and I am sure most on here have also suffered through one of those.
You made it to another sunrise and here's to more of those in the future just keep looking at the good things and get yourself through this.
It looks like a lot of people have your back here.

Glad you're alive, bmills. We were all really worried about you. Amazing how quickly life can turn. I'm not trying to be all "me too" or anything, but the past year has been pretty rough for me and my family, and I think you absolutely 100% nailed it how you said "So many people I thought were close friends don’t want to continue to be one when the chips are down." That is exactly what I experienced with just a few HUGE exceptions...the brothers and sisters at our church, like 2 people in Big Sky, AND the folks here at TGR. We may be a bunch of assholes to each other online here, but in real life, there are some really solid folks here. True life example is Harry. A lot of people talk big about being "compassionate," but he truly is. He keeps telling me that as long as kids don't have health insurance, he won't let me buy when we go out for a bite. Many of the other folks here have been super supportive over the years too.
It is absolutely unreal how when life gets shitty, so many of your "friends" aren't really there for you...like at all. Oh, they're all awesome when life's all fun and games, but when things aren't rad anymore, they can't escape the conversation quickly enough and certainly aren't there for you. They're all there for the parties and skiing. Need help moving furniture because you're losing your home? Nope. Made me realize how freaking fake our rad ski town can be. True of anywhere, but I'm over the faux niceness. People around town would be like, "How's it going?" You answer honestly, and it's like those old Looney Tunes where a character would vanish, leaving a cloud of dust that looks like them in their wake. Sorry, but when I've just about lost everything, and am hanging on to life by a thread, I'm not going to lie and say "Oh, Golly Gee, I'm just swell!"
We're here for ya, man. Love this place. At least this is a place where we're allowed to vent, totally raw and unfiltered. No phony baloney PC nonsense here! Sounds like things are insanely tough for you right now. Gotta keep on keeping on, bro.

Maybe you could find true love with DD's mom? Perhaps the universe is looking out for you?
heh.
I don't know you but I always click on a thread when you post... I enjoy your sense of humor. Sorry you're going through a rough bit, hang in there.

BMills, keep your head up. FWIW you are not alone in feeling the way you do. Been feeling the abyss too. One foot in front of the other and all that. Stay healthy, look for those little moments of good and soak them in hard. Hard as that is sometimes it's all ya got. I went skiing with my oldest thing and then with a good pal in a 3 day period. It helped. Hang on.

Glad to see you checking in C... was a lot of worrying going on over the internet. That's the beauty of this place... there's always someone to bitch to, or at, and occasionally someone says something sort of nice, even. Look at Benny's revival?! Some people even want to ski with him now!

If you woulda smacked down any single one of those problems had they come at you one at a time, then call it bad luck. Figure out which is the most important of your problems and hit it hard (up or down). Level head. Don't prolong it.

Thx for checking in B
a bit o' Karl Jung wisdom:There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.

Drinking alcohol is not the answer. Go full on, TB12. Drink water and work bitch. Only way out, guy. For real. Sweat it out. Choose happiness.

Checking in to say hey. Don't do anything rash, I have to kick your ass around a tennis court one day man! Things will get better, and shit happens for a reason some times.
