I Skied With Benny Profane Today !

Not gonna lie, I am prepared to eat major TGR shit over this. I skied with Benny Profane today.

A week or so ago, Benny posted in some random thread that he was headed to Montana on a ski trip. I thought "What a fucking bullshiter", but I posted "Hey Benny, let's go skiing!" and I figured that was the end of it. A bunch of other mags piled on and said "No way will Benny ever actually ski with a mag". How wrong I was....

I got a PM yesterday from Benny saying "Hey Harry, let's go skiing tomorrow." My first thought was that it was a joke. Met up with Benny for first chair on a 9 inch powder day and here is my report.

A) Benny is a genuinely nice guy, contrary to his online persona.

B) Benny fucking rips. He was on 191 Lhasa's, and he is a really good skier.

C) He can actually offload a chairlift without causing crippling injuries to both of us.

Skied from first chair till 3 pm with Benny and I had a great time. I make a new friend today.

Later on at 5 pm met up with him at the Riverhouse for beers and dinner. Great time.

I have given Benny a lot of shit over the years, but I take it all back. I will ski or socialize with him anytime.

Funny how that all works out far more often than not. Can't believe I was on the same mountain on the same day, this is kind of epic. Riverhouse does indeed rule. I gotta be careful at that place, my stomach forgets to tell me it's full.

Btw, just to stay in character here, if some locals are looking for a nice free breakfast, Bucks T4 does not check at all if you are a hotel customer when you walk in. I've been here all week, and I drive up from my room in my ski clothes. Just sayin. Bacon is superb. The breakfast room is the same as the dining room.

Just don't make it a habit, I guess.

All day long Benny was pulling food out of his pockets that he had kifed from the breakfast buffet. Some things never change....
