Why ski Bridger when you could come back to summit county and ski Keystone like a true local?

I have seen this video before but it still blows my mind. It is symbolic of many of the things wrong with this country.

$52 is a steal for a lift ticket. I wonder how this dude would have felt if he paid the $191 for a lift ticket to Vail and the bowls were on wind hold.

Can’t believe the employee was so respectful (and also gave his money back?!) If I was working that ticket window I would have had to step away or beat the shit out of that guy. Who the fuck whines about a $52 lift ticket? Why did no one step in to stop this nonsense? Who pissed in this guys cheerios? Does he have a wife and kids (holy shit if he does)

    I have many questions.

Wait, what, a day pass in Vail is 192$ ?! Holy shit, you're really all dentists.
Edit : I've checked. 5000$ for 7 days and my family of 4. You can buy 4 season passes in a major french resort for that kind of money.
Sorry for cunting this historic thread, but prices were not so insane just 10 years ago ? Or were they ?

I always imagined you as some kind of Sorbonne "I have a modest 10 room weekend house in Fontainbleau" kind of guy who didn't have to care about such mundane things such as money because it has been in your family since the 15th century. (Didn't you post about some business travel stuff that made me think of you as some L'oreal heir? )

But yes skiing in the US is kind of absurd. I thought 80 CHF for a St. Moritz day pass is totally ok (honestly.. I cringe at anything above 50-55euros. But the hefty prices actually made freerinding in ST. Moritz more relaxed in those southern winters, especially since every other day after the first is only 25 chf in St. moritz if you stay there) because it keeps the freeride riff raff out, but If had had to pay 150 Euros for daily skiing that would keep ME out, which would be unacceptable, obviously.

edit: and for less than 5000 bucks you can get a Swiss GA if you are a swiss snowsport teacher / race team member. Meaning you can ski anywhere in switzland for the whole season. (I think it was something like 3000chf.)

Yes, well, you've got me confused with someone else... I very much care about money. Did you think I'm a Zurich banker ?!
(I do own a week end house though, in my family since a few centuries. It needs a new roof, and, man, do I wish I were a L'Oréal heir).

When you're more expensive than Switzerland, you've got a problem...

Well, you could buy 4 season passes to Vail for less than that too.

You've never been there so of course you're right. Because otherwise you'd be talking out your ass about something you don't know about.
