Wanna roll a few frames tomorrow?

That's the question posed to me late last night. I'm going bowling today for the first time in forever and I'm so fucking stoked.

I've got the PBA on tv just to get fired up for a few hours of luke warm pitchers of shitty beer, high fives, and leaving a lot of buckets.

I still call it The Jake.

Some of those NBA dudes can fucking roll.

There is something seriously awesome about letting the ol Ebonite Gyro go and seeing her hook right into the pocket to blow up the pins. Hell, bottle the ambient noise of a bowling alley and you got something sweeter than Yoo-Hoo.

First turkey of the afternoon is getting a loud, slightly inappropriate, GOBBLE GOBBLE MOTHERFUCKER! yelled out across the lanes.

I can smell the fried foods, stale cigarette smoke, empty beer bottles, and despair from here.

Bowling done went and got pricey. Went bowling with some friends recently. 3 adults, 4 kids, 2 lanes, 3 games each lane, few pitchers of shitty beer and some crappy food for the kids. Total was well over $200. Good times, though.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Seriously. I insisted on the lanes with a fine patina that Maz describes over the 'lifestyle lanes' of Midtown Bowl.

Sadly, that place burned down last winter. Lifestyle is our only option now.

Why does death by fire sound like a perfectly fitting end for a bowling alley?

I recall a lot of good times at the local college bowling alley. Thursday night was townie regular get together. After hitting two of three happy hours at the bars in stumbling distance it was off to the student center for billiards and bowling.

Wanna roll a few frames tomorrow?

Love to roll the rock. Bowling league is the original social network. My high school had bowling instead of PE our senior year.
Not a fan of the new luxury lanes of today with expensive drinks and trippy lights. They rarely oil those lanes or just dump fucktons of it on there.
I carry a 200 average - always watch out for bowlers wearing golf shirts. Dollar a pin anyone?

Edit: I am a fan however of fancy bowling like this one in Nashville. So chic.
