Did you know Linkedin has profiles for prostitutes?
Pretty funny how if you end up randomly clicking on one their algorithm starts directing you to a whole bunch of others.
I guess it's a good strategy for that line of work. Maybe. Not 100% clear on how the 'transaction' might work. And obviously since it's an international platform the job seeker would have to rely on the potential employer to filter by location.
[//quote]

It happened in like two steps, and it's because of their algorithm. I have noticed this in the past--if you click on a woman who looks 'hot' then it will suggest a bunch of other women (IME maybe eight or nine out of ten of the next suggestions will all be pretty good looking women).
I got a request from some pretty good looking woman and I confirmed her (I almost didn't, but we do have one connection in common). So then that thing happened where it suggested a bunch of other women, I clicked on one to see something about her, and then when I looked at the suggestions based on that one things were a little...off. One more click and I was in Linkedin prostitute-land.
I mean, none of them listed 'prostitute' as a profession (I don't think), but it was pretty clear. Can't remember the exact terminology, but I think it might have been things like 'executive companion' or something. I only looked at two or three of them...not sure how Linkedin works, exactly, but I kind of didn't want it to start suggesting a bunch of them for me on its own.
I have figured out that part of the reason it happens is there must be guys out there who are actually using Linkedin to find prostitutes, and it makes suggestions partially based on what others have clicked on after clicking on the person you are looking at. So if a bunch of people click on prostitutes after clicking on the prostitute you are looking at then it will, at least in part, suggest those same prostitutes that got clicks.
I also realized that some people try to use it as a dating app because, prostitutes aside, if you click on a good looking woman (or at least a woman with a pretty/done up photo) it will suggest a bunch of 'similar' looking women next.
[//quote]

I’m not buying that LinkedIn’s search algorithm runs by hotness of head shots
But maybe it really should
You sure you’re not on tinder?

I've noticed the same thing. Click some hot bitch's profile and there's a column on the right that reads "people search this profile also looked at:" followed by links to a dozen other hotties.
Hell of a time waster when at work.

Linkedin doesn't have access to my email contacts.
The profile suggestions come from what other people have clicked on who viewed the same initial profile.
Besides, I use the 'anything goes' section of CL, and I'm pretty sure those deviants don't have Linkedin profiles.
[//quote]

That's why you're such a failure as a prostitute.

working girls.
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

An outfit I did some work for said I should make a profile there 'for contacts.' I don't do anything for that outfit anymore, but the useless emails and obscure acquaintences asking me to add them to my 'network' had me intending to delete my profile, I just haven't gotten around to it.
But this discovery by Dex has piqued my curiosity. I kind of feel an urge to check it out, but I probably won't.

I'm curious why prostitutes feel like they have to network.

Clearly I just don't get it. You've heard of #MeToo - I'm starting #NotMe right now.
