Yes, it’s a super nice little wooden boat with lots of varnish so it’s the best of both worlds for me… easy to take care of but lots of Spring hours in bringing the finish back to standard. Owner has an open checkbook policy, doesn’t really know what he’s doing, and dings it up each year. I think it’s mostly an ornament for his mooring at “camp”. Anyways, he gives me a nice little chunk of change each year to care for it. Good spancership.

Kid came home with the jankiest ice boat this afternoon. It’s the last week of High School for seniors and the shop teacher gave it to my kid as a reward or punishment, I can’t tell which. We all laughed and it does look like a fun way to get hurt.
“At least it was free!” said my kid.
”You’ll learn there is no such thing as a free boat” I replied

I still can’t tell if ice boating is very cool or a much more raw version of cigarette boat racing. Like I’d love to try it but I also can see me and the vehicle ending our lives together
