I think the boat will survive. They just remove the hammock and pass the ice boat on to the next sucker/sacrifice.

But yeah it looks fun as fuck. The dry lake bed version too.

There's two good-sized lakes near here that for some reason freeze super smooth and quite a bunch of people sail them out there, it definitely looks fun as hell.

I filled the tank on the boat today for the first time this year, and from pretty empty. Oof.

Any guesses who owns it? All it says is he/she is a Chef.

Interesting that they went away from the traditional Rybovich broken shear. The shearline looks like a Merritt.

    Someone ping TR.

So the chef has seven homes, this wooden wonder, a Feadship and finds time to spend 50-60 days a year on the water fishing?

That's got to be a very small pool of suspects.
I still call it The Jake.

I'm gonna go with Tilman Fertitta. Owns a Feadship for sure. Not a chef per se (although maybe he once was one?) but a restaurateur and hospitality guy.

Don't forget the custom Ferrari that the Rybo interior was based off.
I tried to figure it out. Even the historical build sheet from Rybo shows no owner on the list. Most of them do. I see Jimmy Buffett's Rybo's on there, under Margaritavitch LLC.

if you generously interpret “chef” you could expand the pool, but if you stick to cook my guess would be Gordon Ramsay- perhaps the only chef with a Ferrari collection, who also opened restaurants in Miami recently. There aren’t, I don’t think, that many chefs with the cash flow to manage all that.

Maybe Jean-Georges? I dunno about Miami but he's always opening places.

I got to see Gordon Ramsay in action when he was just starting to get famous. He was already a restaurateur. He had just opened a place in the London NYC hotel on 54th St., which was brand new (we just happened to be staying there by accident, we had tried to book at the previous hotel).

It was opening night at the restaurant, and for some reason Ramsay had gone across the street. He was crossing back to the restaurant as we walked up the sidewalk at about 10 or 11 at night. Two guys in Chef's toques and kitchen unis were on the sidewalk leaning against the wall by the front door to the restaurant, smoking.

Ramsay saw them from the street and nearly got run over trying to run to them and when he got there he absolutely lost his mind. The act on TV is mild. He totally lost it. It was entertaining.

Ramsay is such a fraud. If you see him on Hot Ones try to eat spicy wings he just has a total meltdown. Tough guy my ass.

450 gal @ $7/gal is only $3150. So how far can that go on a tankful?

    You misread the specs.
    450 gal is freshwater capacity.
2,560 gal is the fuel capacity
