The host at the golf league Christmas party was telling me about the new boat that he and his 2 partners were about to close on.

I was offered a job at Hinckley about 25 years ago but remembered how crappy the winters were in Maine and didn't take it. Just as impressive as the Hinckley yard was the yard at Robinhood Marine in Georgetown (near Bath), they have the oldest operational railway in the country and was told during my interview that the only thing they don't produce for their boats is the raw fiberglass, paint, and prop shafts. They have a complete lumber mill, foundry, and paint shop, raw logs go in one end and complete boats out the other. Didn't take that job either for the same reason as the Hinckley job, Maine has great summers but mud season is way too long.

For a short Time when I moved to South Jersey, I worked as a Finish Electrician for Viking Yacht Company.
I saw every nook and cranny of some very nice Sport Fishing Boats. Also go to go out on a couple while they put them through their paces, doing shit the owners would never do.

I worked for a place that sold Apache, Formula, Chris Craft, Mako, and Egg Harbor boats and we were told during a sea trial to do anything you think the owner would do with the boats, CC Amerosports would break rudder supports, and Formula 311's liked to break the swim platforms off.

Here is some of the early history of that boat. DENO Boatworks bought the mold from Lazzara.
Both are(were) local Tampa companies.
https://www.thehulltruth.com/boating...nter-28-a.html
Lazzara got out of the yacht business. His sons are the ones doing those stabilizing gyros now that they put in boats to keep them from rocking in seas.
They are killing it with 1/100th of the overhead of building yachts. Bertram bought their facility a couple years back, and they are making the 31(one of my favorites of all time, next to the Bertram 28- bracketed with outboards) in Tampa.

If me and a dozen friends need to go 90 in the ocean at least I know who to call now.

I know that you have no love for these center consoles, but they get you to the goods quickly and they have all the latest and greatest gadgets. A marlin hunter for sure. So, next time that you want to do 90 on the water, or catch a few sails and marlin, let me know.

I didn't think that it was horrible. I liked it as a fishing boat. We caught a lot of big fish on that boat. However, if I was the one picking out the boat, it would not be the Nortech. I am more partial to a 60' Viking or Hatteras. Still, it was good to play around on 2 weeks/year. I really can't complain.

Guess that's why it didn't say Freeman on the side.
THT is a shitshow. Too many Yellowfin guys on there.

I would love a 26 Calcutta for Mass striper fishing and an all around day boat. Except I want to be able to do the overnight thing with the wife so maybe not??? Last cat I was on was a 20is foot Sea Cat in the early 90's with first gen twin Honda 45 4strokes. After too much THT exposure I want to go 50. For now I will stick with my little 22ft cc.

My little 22' center console is sold as of the day I take it out of the water in the fall, a friend is buying it from me which works out super well with the slip and everything, so I'm kinda slowly shopping.
Similar to you I want to be able to do an overnight alone or with the wife. The boat I really want is an Albemarle 25 express, they're pretty spendy new and hard to find used but there's a nice 2016 one (looks nice in the pics at least) that's been for sale for a while down on Long Island that's fully optioned out that I might be able to swing if I get the "go" sign from herself, we'll see if it's still there in the fall.
They're nice boats: https://www.albemarleboats.com/25-express-edit

Unless you guys are like 5'2, that is gonna be a tough sell on the overnight.
Mine is 34', and it is still a bit tight.
I would see if you can rent something or try one out first to see if overnight is even really an option.
Just my $.02
