I conveniently left out December - February. Yeesh. March was so good it almost made up for it. Almost.

Man, I kept waiting for Snowbasin/Sun Valley to be on Ikon, but I guess the TGR internet warriors figured out the rest of the resorts that are to be announced this week. Can't believe that the Alterra folks could leak that shit themselves, by accident!! hahahahaha

So they added Summit at Snowqualmie, Cypress, and the Boynes.

    When's it gonna end?

The unlimited Solitude aspect brings with it a massive development in the touring possibilities for us Park City folk, euro style. The cost of the IKON AND EPIC combined equals what a season pass to any of the single resorts would have cost just a couple of years ago. It's now going to be possible to ski off of the Park City ridgeline, hit some Soli runs / backcountry, then skin back to Park City. Not to mention hitting all of the resorts int the Wasatch in a day, but that would be burning a bunch of the Ikon punch pass in one swoop. I'll probably try it though.

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Went from 5 days combined at Loon, Sunday River and Sugarloaf to 5 days each. Already bought it but that was really my only annoyance from Max Pass to Ikon and now its back to the same number of days as the Max Pass. Pretty awesome for EC people

A little bummed that Snoqualmie is only 7/5 Days. Curious what the blackout dates are for the 5 day pass... probably president's week I'm guessing. Edit: Looks like it's the 16th and 17th of February.

Aspen Premier Pass holders are getting dicked. $50 more for the pass and all we get, is all you Ikon vagrants when it’s good.

Maybe Dave Perry could throw his most loyal customers a bone?

Was really hoping for Crystal to get added for PNW. As a Snoqualmie pass holder, this doesn't do much for me. I'm hoping it opens up the Ikon resorts for free/discounted skiing for employees, though. Plus I hope they keep up the Mt. Collective for those of us who really only need a couple days at each resort.

It’s not really hard to get to, when the weathers good. 42 flights a day at Christmas, with directs from many major cities. That doesn’t even include EGE, which is only 70 miles away.

We have a ton of capacity and We’ll be fine, but it would be nice if we got some free days at all these other places

Initial reaction of every local when their mountain is included on one of these passes "ERMAGERD! THE GAPERS ARE COMING!!!! IT'S GOWNA BE REAL CROWDED!!!" but they fail to realize that A) their mountain will now have a chance of being sustainable into the future instead of being put out of business by VR, and B) Some businesses in their town might thrive with increased revenue causing employment and wages to increase and C}they now get access to a shitload of other resorts if they ever get motivated enough to actually go anywhere but the mountain down the street from them.

Sure, places like WP and Copper, being close to Denver, will cause them to be the default place to go unless one of the slightly further mountains gets hammered. People might take vacations to one of the even slightly further resorts ( like Jackson).

I came here to chime in after the summit at snoqualmie news...

I assumed these are for ski resorts who relied on hotels and housing to bring in big chunk of revenues and not dependent on season pass/lift ticket sales.... but summit at snoqualmie doesn’t fit that bill as there is no hotels. I wonder why they decided to do this?

Simple -- attract occasional skiers from Seattle area. People for who 5 or 7 days at Snoqualmie are enough, and will take a destination trip or two for a year. Same reason for expanding days in the East, adding local resorts like Eldora, Cypress, etc.

Rentals, lessons, food and beverage are all profitable.
