i cut lines in three states, and skied 8 yrs, 80/100 days a year, w/o riding a lift.

Anyway, spoke to someone senior at Alterra and they do plan to open this year on schedule. The current plan is people in same household will ride the lift together.

Otherwise they will have two people on each side of a quad and only one person to a quad if they request it. Imagine all those empty seats on a pow day....

Face covering will be mandatory as well.

Not to sound ridiculous, but I wonder what will qualify as a valid face covering. While balaclavas would seem like an obvious qualifier, I'm thinking about the converse where Delta has banned face masks with an exhaust valve. I'm hoping that balaclavas with little vent holes won't fall under the same boat on the ski slopes.

I'm cautiously optimistic for the ski season, but considering how quickly things can flip in the span of 2 weeks, I don't want to be too optimistic about planning for a season that's still 3-4 months away.

Masks are in theory protecting others. Valves don’t do that.
