They were pretty good about it last year. That ended up being my go-to first thing in the morning when I wanted to get up top. People forget it exists.

Should I buy a pass? What is the country’s covid plan for fall/winter, I feel pretty lost here? Has Ikon announced a plan?

My plan was to ski 100 days, will that be doable at the resort? California skier.

He's really swamped by this stuff so keep messaging him until you get an answer.

He's also a local in CO, BC, Italy and even places he's never been.

We're lucky to have him as a resource.

so he’s swamped? You’re telling me, the only way to get him to answer is write him 40 messages and hopefully mine sticks out? I’ll try.

Well, since you’re already an ibex, climbing up is easy. So no need for ikon ticket.
And since you’re irie, you are already high enough to come down. Who needs a chairlift.

FYI, Benny profane doesn’t smoke weed, so don’t think you can influence him that way.
PM him about a Datch Waifu hookup. Or a nice onara kao.

So as part of the pass assurance you either choose a specific mountain or default to "all mountains". The window to change your selection starts today. I switched my mountain to Steamboat since I live here, and it says "all selections are final." Wondering why they're not giving you the whole window to decide and being assholes about it. Anyway, does it make more sense to have a home mountain if you live by said mountain instead of just defaulting to "all mountains"?

I haven't chosen yet but it seemed to make more sense to select your home mountain. I figure I'm unlikely to be travelling to other Ikon resorts this season.

If you read the full terms of it, it looks like the "All mountains" option gets you really diluted amounts back per day compared to the single mountain.

    https://www.ikonpass.com/en/adventure-assurance-program

    • If a 20/21 Ikon Pass holder selects All Destinations as their Adventure Assurance destination and if any North American Ikon Pass destination remains closed due to COVID-19 for at least one full day between December 10, 2020 and April 11, 2021, the 20/21 Ikon Pass holder will receive a proportional credit of the actual purchase price paid for their used pass toward the purchase of a 21/22 Ikon Pass product. The actual credit a pass holder will receive for their used 20/21 Ikon Pass will be calculated based on the number of days any North American Ikon Pass destinations are closed due to COVID-19 during that 123 day period (between December 10, 2020 and April 11, 2021) divided by the total number of possible days at all North American Ikon Pass destinations during that 123 day period (between December 10, 2020 and April 11, 2021).

I have a sneaking suspicion there will be 2 sets of rules for Ikon Mountains this year. One set for the unlimited mountains that includes reservations not related to hill capacity of some kind (Copper has parking reservations), and another for the limited day mountains that will be tied to a skier # cap with the actual passholders not being limited, but the Ikon holders being limited in some form or fashion (Jackson, Abasin)

Very likely. A-basin just announced that they will not require reservations for passholders. And if you read between the lines it's likely that Ikoners will be on some type of reservation system once finalized. As an A-basin passholder I'm stoked to say the least.

    Single Resort Strategy

I understand the strategy of hedging your bets at your home mountain.
But let's say you want to play the game of maximizing your chances for a credit through adventure assurance.
What mountain would be most likely to close for a significant period of time?
Given the state mandated closure last season, I'm leaning toward any of the Colorado resorts.
However, I'd like to hear different opinions on this one.

I’ve been holding out, wanting more info but I think this news hooked me to renew my midweek pass before the price goes up. Now I’m trying to decide whether to wait on Ikon to see what the plan is or get a Copper season pass which includes a free kids pass for $600.
