Marco Island Off Shore Charter Recommendation

Heading down at the end of March, looking for any recommendations on a charter/ captain. There’s 4 of us including my then 8 year old son and just looking for half a day.

We’ve done the whole park off a wreck and catch sheepshead and mackerel every other cast thing. That’s pretty boring but I’m the only one into really getting after something different. Thinking maybe 2 hours of the wreck thing and then seeing if the captain is open to something a bit more adventurous.

    Any recommendations welcome...

Half day charter will never get you out far enough. They have their set spots. If you ask the captain to motor out to a grouper spot, be ready to only fish that spot or one other. I would be looking at a flats trip in the 10,000 islands area. That would be more fun.

I always trust trip advisor when looking for a guide- especially with kids involved. They haven't let me down yet.

One of my high school classmates just started his own charter. However, it doesn't involve fishing and is adult only.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

The details are blurry, but I had an excellent day at Marco Island. Weather and fish were excellent- this was November tho.

Hope you you have a good trip.

Thx, I’d like to do a day in the flats but that’s a solo trip (ie not with the kid).

Kind of figured I may just be ok with what’s available for a half day.
