That must be the reason for the west coast tsunami warning this morning.

Ok, news [CBS] yacked about the warning but gave no reason for it. More worried about what some pop singer is doing as usual.

In the first video, they show some dude that appears to be sitting on a chairlift while the volcano erupts nearby.

Yikes! Usually volcanoes are monitored for seismic activity which can be a warning signal about a potential eruption. I don't know the history of this volcano but I would assume there is some sort of monitoring going on that should have triggered at least a ski area closure for a few days.
I can't imagine being stranded on a chairlift like that while boulders are dropping from the sky around me.Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

From that article:
Japan has 110 active volcanoes and monitors 47 of them around the clock.Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Until now I never considered one of the benefits of wearing a helmet while skiing would be protection against volcanic ejecta!
