Kappl: What a great show! And you should have seen the party in my hotel's bar last night. ALL the kids (interestingly, with the exception of thing 3# - for which I am somewhat grateful!) were there. It got a little nutty and I left at midnight. Hard to imagine what it might have turned into. It's a wacky place! https://www.facebook.com/GrotteApresSkiBarKappl/

It was a big-boy venue. Thing #2, Grifen Moeller, Connor Pelton, Davey Baird and George Rodney all fore-ran. All of them said how glad they were they weren't competing on it. Snow was punchy, crusty. Big chunks of debris down low in the landings.

Judging was more euro than norte americano. The judges apparently liked smoothness (who doesn't) and the american ski men were out to send it which didn't pay off for the most part.

The smile on thing #3's face at the finish says it all. He crashed but went for it and was so stoked just to be here.

Rachel Croft blew her ACL and MCL on the way down after the athlete she was coaching skied her run and had to be heli-evacuated off the far looker's left side of the venue right after thing #3's run. SO bummed for her.

Thanks for the props brit. My 3 things rip but that's not exactly the word most would use to describe my skiing!

Leif was ripping around alyeska with a broken arm a few weeks ago when I was in alyeska . Healed up I guess! Great to have the video feed - tough snow/avy debris/ a few unlucky Bomb holes. I don’t think the footage really puts into perspective how good these kids are. I think it was just visual inspections as well which .....

Most of us never think we’ll be the slowest in the family lol. Euro judging is strange- they seem to overvalue 360s and undervalue control but maybe that is the announcing.

4 FWT athletes arriving in Cham later today looking for a couch to surf. Holler if you can help!

I never had any doubts I’d be the slowest in the fam.

Yeah, replays don’t do the kids or the venues justice.

Even without the tragic crash it's a legendary run. Biggest backflip in the history of FWT? Makes his little hesitation before the last cliff seem pretty forgivable too since he was literally walking over rocks.

I'm hoping the podium is Barkered, Patterson, Collomb-Patton, in no particular order. I think any kind of podium at Verbier is a huge achievement.

Praying to fucking god they don't fire it on Friday. There are a whole bunch of people who made plans to be there for an event beginning Saturday flying in from all over the world. Likelihood is if they do, I and many others won't be able to get there. Not to mention having nowhere to spend Friday night even if I can get there, and it'll cost me a fortune to regroup. I realize it's not about spectators but really?

Nothing like an entire winter trip planned around a published schedule that they change at the last minute. Not super stoked with the FWT organization at the moment. I know, first-world problem.
