There is specific cert for skimo? What the fuck?

My understanding is that the alpine ski helmet standards requires a certain level of protection from a pole tip going through a vent and stabbing you in the head. Passing that pretty much rules out enough ventilation to wear while skinning in normal temps, so the touring standard forgoes that test.
