Gotta disagree.
In a game that revolves around the simple concept of playing it as it lies, running after and stopping your ball from rolling off the green after you pound it past the hole is a total hack move and certainly cheating. The fact that he did it because he snapped and reacted wildly inapropriately on national tv does not change that.
The right thing for him to do now is withdraw gracefully

His personality reminds me of myself. Genuinely nice guy for sure, but he's so competitive that he can come across as an asshole and/or head case sometimes.

That was just crazy. IMO, if it was "cheating", that would mean disqualification. Still, it was a dumb cunt move.

I view cheating as something against the rules done [knowingly or unknowingly] to improve the next shot. As in Wie's drop a decade ago, or Tiger's drop on 15 at Augusta in 2013. Phil putting at a moving ball isn't giving him any advantage...Sure, i suppose it was a couple inches shorter putt, but a moving target and he clearly didn't give a fuck if it went in...

We had a great day at the tournament.
It was breezy at times and the course is almost unreasonably hard.

Exactly. There’s no doubt they lost the greens. USGA will never admit it even though it’s obvious.
