    Official 2018 Tennis Thread

    Australian Open kicked off tonight.

Venus in trouble. Coco in trouble. Let’s go USA gals. Coco needs to make another deep run. Love her McEnroe-esk spirit.

Jesus! Tough day on the courts for you yanks eh? Tomorrow will be interesting for the canucks. Hopefully Genie gets past round one and Milos and Denis get good and deep. Denis looked good in round one, should be a gooder against Tsonga in round 2 (he got him last year).

Let the new game of kings season begin!

Kinda strange seeing Nadal and Fed back at 1 & 2, respectively. Here's hoping we get a few more showdowns.

Well, at least we still have Denis. Milos looked about as expected I suppose (having played one match in 6 months...). Go Genie, Go Shapovalov!

I started one last night but no steam.

    It's Donald Young's year.

Some of Shapo's shots are bloody incredible. Great match going on vs. Tsonga.

Gutsy win by Tsonga, wicked match. Shapo was in it, nice job by the kid.

Some good tennis being played. Lots of upsets, especially on the women’s side.

Sharapova into the third round. Wozniaki survives a three setter.

Heck of a ladies final. Just watched the dvr of the match. A very entertaining three setter. I won’t divulge the winner and spoil it for those who don’t want to know. Person I wanted to win won so I’m happy.

Agree on all points. Gonna be hard to catch the men’s final live. DVR it is.

May be if he wins one more. My opinion is most valued here.

Sorry I missed the final. Got some catching up to do, however won't be for a few weeks. Glad it was a gooder though, and I am happy Fed won.

He is indeed a fed goat with 20 grand slams! Actually had to look up what you meant- "Greatest Of All Time"

Most grand slams in the open era is a pretty solid metric for GOAT, so he's gotta be considered the men's GOAT. But overall, Serena probably is.

For reference, in the open era there have been 200 grand slams.

Fed has won 10% of them.

Yeah, that's just plain fucking nuts.

We have been very lucky to have seen his career live - and it ain't even over yet!
