Alta is for skiers...and thieves apparently
Hey @$$hole who stole my poles from out front the ski shop at Goldminers Daughter. F#CK YOU! You didn’t think I’d walk every rack till I found them, did you? If I didn’t have to wait in an hour line for the mountain collective, I’d have waited by your skis just for the opportunity to punch you in your bitch ass face. My buddy saw you ski up to the Collins lift, poleless, only to magically conjure up a set of poles as people locked their boots down at the top. You are scum and I hope you snap your tib/fib deep in the trees and wait in agony for hours till ski patrol finds your thieving soul.

Were these like some panda poles or something? I mean I've heard of some thefts here or there at alta, but this seems weird for some reason. Glad you found em.

Someone stole my poles at Sugarloaf when I was 13 or so. Found them on a ski rack hanging on the thief's skis. Moved the skis to a rack on the other side of the lodge. Seemed fair.

Some idiot stole my Olin Mark IVs back in the early 80’s at a MN Hill. I knew the lift crew well; two of them scoured the parking lot with me, and caught the thief trying to leave with my skis in his pickup. He got a nice beat-down before the cops arrived. That was satisfying.

WI drinking age was 18, while MN was 19; lots of drunken antics in the border towns. We’d buy beer in St. Croix, then ski Wild until close. Young and dumb.

Ha, I remember those 18/19 drinking age days. The bars in Hudson would advertise on Mpls radio for happy hours....4 for 1 drinks early, then 3 for 1, then 2 for 1...by then we were wasted of course, driving back to the cities drunk. Smart! Just one of the many aspects of my youth that leaves me smh and wondering how I ever survived.
