Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

    Bombogenesis aka Bomb Cyclone

    Itís been rain-snow-sleet-snow-sleet around NYC.
High wind and lots of knocked down trees.
A lot of traffic lights are out and it was dicey getting home.
Luckily our co-op didnít lose power, but more squirrels lost their homes.

What the fuck is the difference between a noríeaster and a bomb cyclone? I grew up in Mass and never remember a bomb cyclone.

It's all about how quickly the storm intensifies.

Don't think it's a regular cyclonic system, two low pressure system merged just off the coast, which is why it intensified real quick. Just drove down from Dover NH to Boston this afternoon, not too bad really. A bit breezy around the docks, meh, oi've sen wurse.

Got power back on the south shore this afternoon. Folks on the south coast still without. Really happy to have power back, last couple of storms like this were 4-5 days of no heat.

We usually don't have waves like this here (not my pic)

Um, is it the perspective or is there a tidal wave about to demolish the foreground and the photographer?
    No longer stuck.

evidently, my buddy's kid went out surfing in Kennebunk and came back to this. Engineering student at Tufts. He understands tides and stuff. They dug it out and it ran. said it was an epic session.

60+ mph gusts in DC area from Thursday nite through Friday. Tons of stuff flying around and trees down. Power out from early Friday am to midnight.

    a little rock and roll

Went for a hike on the AT Sat, not as many blow downs as I expected. Fair number of trees and power outages, most localized.
