    Those other beers thread

Not in season now...and when I first saw it I thought: that’s gonna taste like shit, but on any day over 90deg last summer, I drank gallons of:

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Telluride Face Down Brown has become a go to beer in my house, way more interesting than most browns. New Belgium 1554 is another regular.
I take the opposite approach. I put beer in the fridge that my wife doesn't like. That way there's a better chance there will still be beer there when I want one. And then, I buy something she really likes just often enough that I appear thoughtful. In between I'll occasionally buy something we both like.

Given that I'm generally expected to purchase beer for our house, that wouldn't go over well.

Ah. Well then, I am glad you can find common ground. 8)

Our unspoken rule is that if you didn't buy it, you can't complain. We have the expectation that if you want beer, you buy it.

I suppose black lagers aka schwartzbier would fit here. Had some of this this w/e...its from VA. Quite nice.

you might not be able to get it as the brwery is local to Houston, but st arnolds Christmas is good for this season.

and fyi, if you want to go real deep on other beers, the beer advocate ranks beers, usually takes well into the 200's before I see a beer I've heard of.

This has become one of my go to's, I would consider it above average.

Wish it came in a can so it was more packable for hikes.

It's gotten to the point where I almost never buy bottled beer. There's more good stuff in a can than I can even try, so I just buy canned stuff.

Just OK. Kinda has an edge to it. Like burnt coffee. Had high expectations, yet will not purchase again.
