    Intestinal parasites

Anybody had Ďem? Any experts in this place? Been having some, ahem, issues the past couple months. Couple days ago, I noticed something very wormlike floating in the toilet. Took it to the lab as instructed. Now, I wait, agonizing over the possibility that Iím hosting a colony of something in my gut. On the other hand, Iím excited at the prospect of a definitive diagnosis and getting off this fucking low FODMAP bullshit the GI doc prescribed.

Got a pic. Wanna see it?

ETA: Graphic content below. Spoiler, itís a pic of a butt worm.

Errrrr......was it flat and long and white....looking sorta like a very long stroganoff noodle?

If the pic is from the toilet bowl with floaters about, I'll pass, thank you kindly.......BUT if the pic is of a clean specimen on a counter top or something, then sure....POST EM UP.

I want to see a pic!

Do you eat a lot of sushi?

Parasites fascinate me but they can also be totally disgusting. I won't swim in stagnant warmish water or walk bare foot anywhere where there might be animal feces, heck I won't walk almost anywhere bare foot. Years ago I gave canyoneering a go and after my thrird or fourth trip decided that I didn't like it at all. Some of the pools were so gross, the one that did it for me was this dark deep pool in this narrow slot that we had to rappel into. I kicked this big fuzzy thing below me that I couldn't see and then these gaseous bubbles came to the surface and popped into my face. I hate dirty warm water.

Anyways, most parasitic worms are pretty darn common in most parts of the world and I'm pretty sure they are often easy to get rid of with medication. I think there are over 60 different kinds but that course was a while ago.

I'm no expert but that sure looks like a helminth and more specifically a nematode or round worm.

Wife thought the same, or whipworm.

I have a dog. Also spent a bunch of time in the woods this summer. I started filtering water for long rides so I didnít have to carry as much. Early on I wasnít great about preventing cross contamination, so I wonder if thatís the source.

Symptoms are typical GI stuff, nothing major. I have gambled and lost an inordinate number of time recently, though.

Well that's way better than something like that zombie ant fungus! It will be cool for you to get this figured out and done with. Were you using stream water? Fast moving snow melt water seems a lot safer to me compared to say, a shallow creek out east in the peak of the summer.

I would probably keep an eye on your dogs feces for a while.

take probiotics and aloe vera juice to help flush them out.

I also recommend tgr come up with a medical issues forum so we wont be tempted to view this stuff if its going to be disturbing

    Probiotics and aloe vera juice?

How about some anti-parasitic's and a tactical nuke strike from orbit with beheading?

    Intestinal parasites

Daughter brought home pinworms from daycare once. Treatment was recommended for the entire family AND the care providers. Not sure that the daycare ever followed through with that. Disgusting little angels.

Puppies usually bring to their new home a bunch of parasites. Our current hound shat out a mess of roundworms not a week in her new home, looked like a bundle of spaghetti coming out. Despite her proclivity for rolling in the most foul feces or rotting carrion, and devouring every little rodent she can get, so far no indications of further infestations. Thankfully.

Do not swallow a penny!! They are cooper coated zinc. Your body breaks down the copper but not zinc so you end up with a super sharp razor blade like piece of zinc passing thru you.
