First traditional suicide bomber foiled in NYC subway
Foiled by some subway cops on the ball.
Islamist terrorist...standard modality.
I'm thinking we can expect a lot more of these subway attempts...after certain statements.
I'm just glad I don't live anywhere close to NYC and its crowded subways and I feel for those who have to now commute on the subways with thoughts of increased suicide bomber attempts.
NYC has definitely upgraded their subway station security in the last 16 years though.

I don't get how the suspect was able to detonate the device when it was attached to his chest and live. Must have been a poor design. Imagine if it had gone off as planned!
So perhaps the subway cops weren't exactly on the ball after all.Last edited by Alaskan Rover; 12-11-2017 at 02:01 PM.

Who says this is political? Historically, public space terrorist attack threads go in PR.
So...lets say it wasn't some dumbass pipe-bomb, but was instead a vest packed with C4 and layers of nuts and bolts for shrapnel and killed 86 people....suddenly it WOULD be PR worthy?
I'm just saying we can expect a lot more of this for a bit.

First traditional suicide bomber foiled in NYC subway
Surprised this doesn't happen a lot more in NYC, Boston, DC and Chicago. Keep vigilant people.

For years after 9/11, I walked through Rock Center, thinking, fuck, a U-HAUL could do some serious damage. Easy.

Yeah, they didn't foil shit. His primer charge didn't set off the pipe bomb.
Could it be that our Law Enforcement Agencies maybe aren't as incompetent as a bunch of Internet mouth-breathers think? I've been in the Anti-terrorism Command Center in DC. It's... impressive.

A pipe bomb probably wouldn't have killed anyone but himself unless he was hugging them or something.

Well, that's nice, but I fail to see how an expensive center filled with expensive people is going to stop something that used to happen on a daily basis in Baghdad. Seems pretty simple to me. Millions of people walk around Manhattan with a backpack or messenger bag or briefcase that can hold a bomb, and, now that it's winter, a lot can be hidden under a big coat. And, they don't search cars coming through the tunnels. Any one of them driving by could kill hundreds in a flash. Doesn't even have to be a suicide. Jump out to a preplanned escape route, probably involving the subway, detonate with cell phone, bam. The only purpose that techy command center would fill is filming it all, which may catch the bad guys, but, ain't going to save people.
Italy may have the right idea, or, maybe they're just lucky, but they haven't been hit yet. Tons of soldiers in Rome carrying big muther automatic weapons. Everywhere. And altered and blocked traffic routes. But, hey, they have a subway, too, and anybody can use it.

We need to increase military spending. Increase surveillance. Increase stop and frisk. Increase bombing abroad. So we can all work harder to pay for higher priced everything.
Those command centers are so cool! Did they let you sit in the chair by yourself or did you have to sit on one of their laps?
