Bend/Batchler ski/stay advice. Early Feb
Skibee and I are doing a month on the road, with https://mountaincollective.com/ passes, and starting out from banff, heading to Tahoe/Squaw valley. We are off Feb 12-March 12

I've bike in Bend a bunch, but have not skied Batchler, so are going to stop by on the way thru for a day. We are coming in late that night, dont need anything fancy, and a lift ticket for the next day. Then grab a meal and head south for a few hours closer to Tahoe.
So: any suggestions on either a place to stay? or a ski/stay package, but just for 1 night?

Bend/Batchler ski/stay advice. Early Feb
Oxford is pretty spendy isn't it? Before we got our cabin we used to frequent a place on Century Drive. I think it must have changed hands... thought it was a best western?? https://www.entradalodge.com
Anyhow it was decent price, clean and about as close as you can get to the mountain. Keep in mind it's been like 15 years.... so maybe someone else can chime in on if it's still a good place.

I have been there 2X Stayed at the Super 8 both times. When I go there again, I will book the Super 8.
It's a drive to Bachelor, but so is everything else.
A suggestion. There is no place you want to stop and stay between Bend and Reno Tahoe. It's a one day drive with some scenery and 6 or 7 very small towns.
lots of 2 lane road with slowdowns as you go though these old desperate small towns.
Stay in Bend for the night after skiing, have a nice dinner get some rest and then just plow through to TahoeOwn your fail. ~Jer~

Bend to Reno....."if" road conditions allow and you are in a hurry then 7 is doable. 8 is more common. Expecially if there's womenfolk. 97 is slower speed wise (traffic) than 31. Have a safe trip.

Remember that Feb 19 is Presidents Day. A large number of tourons descend on Bend Feb 16-25.

This doesn't help mntlion, but you can show your boarding pass from Redmond airport on Alaska/Horizon and get a free lift ticket for the day of your arrival. They'll even give you a rental package for free if you don't have skis. I did that a couple years ago and got in a few hours of free skiing.

Quite a few mountains do this and I feel like it's something not a lot of people take advantage of!

Not much of a discount, but any full or weekday pass holder should be able to get you $72 "buddy" lift tickets this month, excluding 17-18th.
