Weird fall here in Central Oregon...barely a drop of precip at this point. Most of the MTB trails are riding with late summer conditions...would prefer to slide on snow but would settle for a dirt refresh.

Booked a trip to Jackson for January and getting lots of work done in the meantime but starting to feel like I need to take up a new set of hobbies to get through fall/ early winter.

No bitching until the winter solstice, after that it's open season.

No bitching about the season until there's a season.

So far California's season has taken off miserably. I hope they get the precipitation they need to help with the fires. Two shitty seasons after an epic one isn't worth it. I'd rather have consistent mediocre seasons every year.

I am dissapointed I didn't get to ski on my birthday like last year (the 7th), and I misread when the white water camp ground closed so I didn't get to do a interglacier tour that I planned on a nice snowy day after a weekend of snow on Rainier - I thought it closed after the 29th, not it will be closed on the 29th of Oct. So I have no November days in yet.

Instead of bitchin' give some of that money you saved from not being able to ski to Protect Our Winters. Send emails to your republican and democratic representatives. Drive less and advocate for the environment. Or.... you may not have any season to bitch about.

It's "Democratic". Only right wing haters use "Democrat" as an adjective.

Just getting worse! Parked the car with a pair of telemark skis inside, and went into the grocery. Came back out, car window was busted and there was another pair of telemark skis in the car.

Ouch. I wouldn’t report it to insurance. Buddy of mine had a similar scenario happen, he’s now deemed “uninsurable”

Lol. Only thing worse than a pair of tele skis is two pair of tele skis.

We can no longer call it a slow start. It's now officially a shitty season. Nothing seems able to vanquish this ridge of high pressure over Montana. Oh well. I'm going for quantity over quality. One hundred days of hardpack!
