Pretty sure they are offering 3 widths, but we have 100mm and 120mm on order.

I tried boots with Beast inserts with Shift and they released fine. However I did not do a DIN check

    And of course that’s anecdotal...

I thought you were railing against the beast boots and they weren’t certified for these bindings? Or am I confused (it’s summer so that’s quite possible)?

Lou is talking about beast inserts not the boots.

I seem to remember the arms of some of those beast horseshoe inserts were a bit cockeyed & did not sit flush with the shelf on the back of the boot so the aluminum might need to be filed flush & straight, otherwise i don't see why they wouldn't work ??

Chances of them working "fine" are probably better than with a Tecton (binding heel engages the rear tech fitting) or Kingpin (rollers designed to work with an 8mm deep heel lug), but I don't think anyone from Amer is going to say it's OK if the heel doesn't conform to ISO 9523 or ISO 5355 spec.

Like Lou I was also talking about Beast inserts. Not boots

Definitely agree. Plus that ISO norm specified boot binding interface.. I'd assume reasonably that a Beast insert would not conform so never asked.

Regardless in the spirit of testing I have flat landed, tomahawked and ejected from Shifts using boots both with and without Beast inserts. Sometimes I even skied quadruple overhead blower pow in skis less than 90mm 8n width. And lived!

I've got some 110mm brakes. I guess that's the missing width.

(Edit) Apologies: I thought we were talking about brake width.

Just had it confirmed from Salomon that the Shift crampons are only available in 100mm & 120mm which is piss poor.

Jon, when you get your hands on the crampons, would you mind posting the actual dimensions and seeing what sort of waist width they actually fit over?

Hey, would you mind measuring the dimensions on-center between holes?
Trying to verify paper template is correct.

Looks like these bindings are getting close, if not already, hitting retailers. Stoked to get mine

At work, can't search the whole thread, Apologies.

    2 questions:
    1) will the brakes be swappable? If yes, how much will extra brakes cost?
    2) When do the crampons become available?
    wait!!!! waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait...Wait!

    1) yes
    2) no idea

FWIW, I ran 110mm on my QST 118s last season. it was ideal. not sure if anything changed from the version I had to now.
